Hello! We’re Becca and Ollie. We’ve been hosting weddings and large events at Cott Farm since renovating this vintage wooden barn for our own wedding in 2016, refining the facilities since then to offer couples an even more stunning space inside and outdoors.

Our wedding dream was to be surrounded by our favourite people, great food and lots of outside space.
After scouring the Westcountry and being overwhelmed by beautiful options for our wedding, we concluded our style was somewhere between relaxed and traditional. We wanted a country-vibe that wasn’t too rustic. A space to include our personal touches, without the drama of DIYing everything. A barn with plenty of character, that feels wedding-worthy and comfortable in all weathers.

We wanted a laid-back wedding, with luxury service.
Our dream wedding venue didn’t exist in Somerset… yet. So in September 2015, we set about renovating a dilapidated barn at the farm. In hindsight the plan was really ambitious! With the help of our families and friends, we fixed the leaks, fitted windows, sky lights and flooring, insulated the entire building, lined and painted the vast walls and re-wired the electrics. We landscaped the outside areas and planted the gardens with flowers. We installed glass tri-folding doors behind the original barn doors, hand built massive wooden tables and a bar, fitted natural coir carpets and strung fairy lights around the old oak beams. The task to transform it into a light, bright wedding-worthy backdrop in just nine months was immense.

Best day ever.
The end result, in the nick of time, was stunning. Our 122 guests enjoyed cider cocktails in the grounds of the barn before sitting down to a three course locally-sourced wedding breakfast cooked to perfection by the same chef and team you’ll find in our kitchen today. More guests joined the party in the evening with music by local band, The IOUs, before camping in the adjacent field.
The barn was destined to be Ollie’s new workshop after the wedding. In the final few weeks before our day though, a friend asked if their friend could hire the barn for a wedding. It was then we realised we had something quite special… and so The Barn at Cott Farm wedding venue was launched.
We’re continually improving the venue, the facilities and the grounds. From designing and building the wooden pergola for wedding ceremonies (and becoming licensed for these), the kitchen and the outdoor kitchen with pizza oven, to hand-creating our luxurious toilets and dressing room, we’ve certainly been busy!
