Cott Farm is licensed for marriages and civil partnerships. This means you can have your legal wedding ceremony and your wedding reception in one place, without you and your guests having to move to another venue after your ceremony. There are three beautiful ceremony locations at Cott Farm:
Outdoor wedding ceremony
Our wedding pergola offers you the chance to say your vows in the great outdoors with your friends and family watching from wooden seating on the lawn. The lawn and pergola is conveniently situated opposite the barn.
You can also choose to get married to the front of the barn if the weather is not perfect.
Both outdoor wedding ceremony locations have great views of the valley beyond the farm.
Indoor wedding ceremony
If you’d prefer an indoor ceremony, or the weather is poor, your guests can enjoy the warmth and comfort of our spacious barn, with twinkling fairy lights on the wooden beams for the perfect ambience.
Whichever location you choose, straight after the ceremony, you and your guests can walk a just a few metres to where our experienced team will serve your arrival drinks. There’s no need to worry about guests getting lost or held up in traffic before your reception when you have your ceremony in the same place, which can help create a better flow to your special day.
Once you have booked your wedding at Cott Farm, you’ll need to book your registrars. Regardless of where you live, you need to contact our local office. The Barn at Cott Farm is within the Somerset Registration Service (Somerset Council) region. Registrars can be booked up to two years in advance of your wedding date and we recommend booking your registrar early to ensure they are available.
By law, civil marriage ceremonies must be non-religious in nature. They can be romantic and unique to you. There are some statutory words that must be included, but the rest of the ceremony can be very personal to you. We’re happy to help with suggestions for this, and the Registration Service team in Somerset are very knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to planning.

Church of England Weddings in Somerset
Cott Farm is located in the middle of 7 parishes that make up the Coker Ridge Benefice in Somerset. You can see the beautiful St Mary’s Church in East Chinnock across the fields from The Barn at Cott Farm – by road it’s about half a mile from the farm.
Catholic Weddings in Somerset
Cott Farm is in the Clifton Diocese and our nearest catholic churches are in Crewkerne and Yeovil.
